4/30/25 - The tariff situation that is seriously affecting our hobby/business remains pretty fluid in nature, but there are hopeful signs regarding at least South Korea which is my primary concern. I have read a number of statements Online regarding the situation and how companies are dealing with it, but surprisingly, many seem very uninformed. I happened to listen to the observations of the Walther's CEO/President regarding the situation during an interview posted on Trains.com. If you are interested in hearing what she had to say, you can do so by clicking HERE. I am not presenting this as a totally factual representation of the situation, in fact I would take exception to some of the historical background presented, but it does express the thought processes of a major player in the model railroad industry.

I say again, that I see hopeful signs regarding the future tariff situation and I am working with my builders to plan a future path forward as we learn more each day.

4/03/25 - My excitement about having made arrangements to be able to move forward with several long delayed projects has certainly been tempered by the latest announcement by the federal government. My focus has been to produce future models solely in South Korea, following the announcement yesterday, there is now a 25% tariff on all products imported from South Korea. Previously, there was a 0% tariff on scale model trains and related items. Currently there is no way to know how this situation will play out and how the South Korean government will respond, but I will have to closely monitor the situation before any firm plans are made for future projects. Check back occasionally for the latest information as I discern what is happening.

3/18/25 - I want to advise that I will be reorganizing the 'Roundhouse' resale platform on this website near term to make it more user friendly and accessible. In addition, a major collection will be arriving for resale in the coming days. Numbering nearly 500 O scale models, there will be a wide variety of models, many of which have not been seen in quite some time. Included will be examples of virtually all of the projects Kohs & Company has produced from the beginning, approximately 20 factory painted OMI diesel locomotives, OMI rolling stock, a large number of Pacific Limited, Protocraft, Pecos River, Keystone Model Works, Rich Yoder Models and select Atlas O Models included. Other names included in the collection are PFM, KTM Imports, Precision Scale and Berlyn Locomotive works. Most of the models are standard O scale, but there is also a good selection of P48 equipment. All of the models in the collection are basically new and unused since collected. I will make note of the actual arrival when it happens and I should also add that this collection was not solicited, but is being handled by request of the owner.

2/16/25 - I am happy to report that the modeling horizon is seemingly considerably brighter in the new year with workable situations of supply improving and the availability of production resources also improving. I have been having active discussions with builders in Korea regarding planned projects in addition to the Big Boy project which has already been restarted. Projects under active discussion are the PFE reefer, the C&O steel caboose and the HO UP Challenger locomotive. We are at the point where pricing has already been discussed and other details are now moving forward. Updates on these projects will be posted in the near future, so if you are interested in these particular projects, be sure to check out the individual project sites for future information.

1/04/25 - Over the last two days we have again been doing some upgrade work on the server hosting this website. The recent efforts have been to optimize the performance of the server to handle the increasing number of visitors, to maintain international security standards and to allow better and more reliable communication with international clients and suppliers. To my knowledge, there has not been any down time for the website which has been a little tricky and we believe that everything is now in place for a good and reliable new year. If you have been affected in any way by our work, I thank you for your patience!

I am now ready to begin project updates for the new year.

1/01/25 - I would like to wish all a very happy and prosperous New Year! I would also like to thank those that have continued to support my efforts even during these most recent difficult times, your trust, patience and understanding have been sincerely appreciated, you will be ultimately rewarded. There is no doubt that the COVID years and time since have been very difficult for most everyone, but thankfully relief seems to be in sight. I have seen a real change in attitude and a renewed interest in the hobby that we all care about if you are reading this message. Most importantly, suppliers seem to have a new sense of interest in getting 'things' done which is something that I have personally been hoping for. Combined with recent very positive feed-back from known high-quality model builders in South Korea, this bodes well for our existing projects as well as new ones. Our ability to get back to producing the finest brass models ever is well in sight.

For those interested in particular projects, please check for individual project updates on this website for the latest planning information going forward. Hoping that you all stay safe and well in the new year!
