This 'A' end view shows the operating scale couple assembly and the markings unique to this end of the car. On the side of the expanded bolster frame you can see the 'defect card' pocket and the data posting plate. Also visible immediately below the 'DO NOT HUMP' lettering is the manual brake release pull rod.
